Thoresby Hall, built in 1742, required from us a mix of modern stainless steel hardware coupled with period architectural brass foundry. Our door controls needed to prevent unnecessary damage and be considerate of the decorative aesthetics of the panels.
The main challenge with this project was working alongside stone flag floors and 3 metre high arched doors in the Great Hall.
Turentek opted for Electro-magnetic floor springs, fitted under the flags, to provide self closure, whilst low level pivot levers kept a discreet appearance. New 200mm brass finial hinges provided the final piece of the jigsaw in terms of fire protection.
A blend of modern hardware with period architecture.
